Sally Hansen Triple Shine: Hypnautical

Sally Hansen's newest line of polish is the Triple Shine line, which is now available.  The only color I got from this line is Hypnautical, a barely-blue tinted jelly packed with blue-to-green flaky glitter.  The formula was surprisingly easy to work with, not too thick but packed with glitter--no dabbing needed!  I used one coat over Maybelline Blast of Blue on my index and middle fingers and two coats of Hypnautical on my ring and pinkie fingers.

Maybelline Color Show: Blast of Blue

Blast of Blue was part of Maybelline's Color Show Color Goes Electric Collection, which came out in Spring of this year for Fashion Week.  It's a gorgeous metallic royal blue, almost opaque in one coat, but two deepened and enriched the color.  The formula was easy to control, and it was super shiny without top coat.

Revlon Parfumerie: Lavender Soap

Lavender Soap is from the Revlon Perfumerie line, and it's another softly colored frost, this time in a super-pale lavender.  The scent is a sweetened floral lavender, with no noticeable soap notes.  Lavender Soap was a bit more prone to brush-strokes than Fresh Linen, and although the formula was easy to work with, I don't think I'll keep this one.  The color entirely too light-colored on the nail and at three coats it's too much work for ordinary use.  All swatches are three coats.

Revlon Parfumerie: Fresh Linen

Fresh Linen is part of Revlon's new Parfumerie line of scented nail polish.  It's a pretty off-white shimmer verging on frost that smells like ozone and musk, which is a fairly standard combination for "clean" fragrances.  Fresh Linen was a little bit brushstroke-y, but not too bad, and I had some VNL at three coats.  Overall, I like the scent, which was very soft and unobtrusive, and I like both the color and the finish for a change from my ordinary bold colors/finishes.

Glitter Daze My White Lighter

My White Lighter is a soft, translucent white base packed with baby blue glitter.  It's opaque and satin matte at three coats, a bit thick but not unworkable, and it glows blue-tinged white in the dark.  I really adore this polish!

Happy Monday!  There is, for me, nothing easier than a post about Incoco nail strips, because with one exception, I love them all.  They're easy to use, comparable in price to drugstore products, come in creative and beautiful designs and last for days--what's not to love?  Total Bombshell is a rose, copper and black marbled design perfect for fall.

Sinful Colors Cold as Ice

Cold as Ice is part of the Sinful Colors Holiday 2013 collection, specifically a sub-collection called Tinsel n' Ice.  It's white matte glitter in a clear base, and I see so many possibilities for a plain white bar glitter!  The formula was neither too thin nor too thick, and I got a good amount of glitter without fishing.  Show is one coat over red and over black.

Models Own Red Sea

Red Sea is part of the Splash collection from Models Own, and it's a red jelly base filled with holographic flakes.    I was afraid of the removal process, so my index and ring fingers are one coat of Red Sea over red and ring and pinky fingers are one coat over black.  Each single brush stroke gave me a good amount of flakes without fishing, and the formula was very smooth.

Glitter Daze Sunset in the City collection: Dusky in Dallas

Dusky in Dallas is part of the Sunset in the City collection from Glitter Daze, and it's a lovely multichrome shimmer.  It's opaque in three coats on its own, but light enough to look good as one coat over a dark color.  The formula was smooth and very easy to work with.  For swatching, I used three coats on my index and middle fingers and one coat over black on my ring and pinky fingers.

Milani Purple Gleam

Purple Gleam is part of Milani's "One Coat Glitter" line, and while it's pretty, it doesn't live up to the name.  It's a dark purple jelly with a ton of purple glitter, but it's not opaque in one coat.  My swatches show one coat on my index and ring fingers and two coats on my middle and pinky fingers.  Purple Gleam is also extremely top coat hungry, and combined with the failure to meet the claim, that means that it's leaving my collection.

Cult Nails Disillusion

Disillusion is part of the All Access collection for Fall 2013.  It's a black jelly loaded with fuchsia shards, and when I say loaded, I mean it has a TON of glitter.  I used one coat of Disillusion over one coat of Cult Nails Fetish, and the result was gorgeous.  The formula was a bit thick due to the sheer volume of glitter, but easy to work with, and I didn't have to dab any glitter on after the first coat.  Removal did require the foil method, but Disillusion is worth the effort!

Cult Nails Swanbourne

Cult Nails Swanbourne is a beautiful cool-toned brown with gold shimmer that shows up in bright lighting.  It looks like very good milk chocolate, and behaves as well as all Cult Nails polishes do.  Swanbourne was opaque in two smooth coats.

OPI Make Him Mine

My final and favorite polish from the mini OPI Mariah Carey Holiday set is Make Him Mine.  It's a silvery, peachy, coppery textured polish that behaves like a dream, dries quickly, is opaque in two coats and is just gorgeous.  If you only get one Liquid Sand from this collection, make it Make Him! :-)

OPI Silent Stars Go By

Silent Stars Go By is a barely peach-tinted silver textured polish from the OPI/Mariah Carey Holiday 2013 collection.  I adore it because it's a soft, warm silver with a great formula, but I hate it because it was a bear to capture on camera!  Out of twelve or so pictures I took, only one was decent. :-(  The swatch is two coats, indoors with flash.

OPI Baby Please Come Home

OPI's Holiday 2013 collection in collaboration with Mariah Carey consists of 18 shades, six of which are Liquid Sand polishes.  I got a mini set, because it had the two polishes I really, really wanted and didn't break the budget!  First up is Baby Please Come Home, a sparkly textured polish that looks pewter in low light and more purple in bright light.  The formula was well-behaved, no running around pooling at my cuticles or dragging, and it was opaque in two coats.
