FingerPaints Hammered Terra-Cotta

purchased by me

Hammered Terra-Cotta is a new addition to FingerPaints' core collection, and it's gorgeous!  It's a rosy copper textured glitter that was a little thick but very easy to work with, and opaque in just two coats.

Hammered Terra-Cotta and the rest of the FingerPaints polishes are only available at Sally Beauty.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Done to Scale

purchased by me

Whew!  Sally Hansen has changed the price, the packaging and the number of polish strips, but they haven't shortened that long-winded name.  The polish strips now come in a small cardboard envelope, they contain 12 strips instead of 16, they've eliminated the instructions, small file and cuticle stick, and they're $5.99 instead of $10.99 (on average).  I like the lower price, but considering all they've gotten rid of, it still seems a bit high.  On the other hand, the newest limited edition strips are really gorgeous and different, so that gives me hope for even more neat patterns!

Done to scale is the mermaid nails I've never been able to do on my own, with a blue scale pattern on a silver background.  Fortunately, Sally Hansen didn't lower the quality of the strips.  As always, they were easy to use, super-pretty and wore like iron.

Urban Lacquer One-Eyed Dragon

purchased by me

One-Eyed Dragon is part of Urban Lacquer's cheeky Members Only collection from Valentine's Day.  It's a duochrome that shifts from emerald green to dark slate blue.  One-Eyed Dragon is opaque in two smooth coats, and the color shift is strong and consistent.  Highly recommended!

One-Eyed Dragon is still available at the Urban Lacquer Etsy store, but I don't know for how much longer, so if you want it, get it now!

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Make Waves

purchased by me

Make Waves, another core polish from Sally Hansen Triple Shine, is a bright turquoise blue with vivid green shimmer.  Like Drama Sheen, it was sheer and not completely opaque in three coats.  Again, the formula was good and the color made up for the sheerness.

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Drama Sheen

purchased by me

Drama Sheen, which is part of the Triple Shine core collection, is a sheer lavender with bright purple shimmer.  Even at three coats there was still some VNL.  Still, the color is pretty, the shimmer is gorgeous, and the formula was very smooth and well-behaved.  I'll probably try it over a similar base color or white before I give up on it entirely.
