Zoya Awaken collection

press samples

Spring has sprung, on our nails if not in our neighborhoods.  Thank you, Zoya, for these beautiful, delicate colors!

First we have Brooklyn, a light yellow gold which Zoya describes as a shimmer metallic but I describe as a frost.  The color is pretty, the coverage was good in two coats, but it was both brush-stroke-y and revealed every single ridge in my nails.  I'm going to try stamping with it and see how that goes.

Next up is Cole, which is exactly the color of a creamsicle!  It's a soft, pastel orange crème, and it was pretty streaky for two coats, but three coats were good at a conversational distance even if they don't look perfect in close-ups.  The formula was thin but pigmented, and it did want to run a bit--sorry for the lousy cleanup I did. :(

Next is Dillon, a beautiful spring green with gold micro-glitter.  Dillon is such a lovely color, really perfectly green, not leaning blue and not leaning yellow.  Thin but pigmented, Dillon was opaque in two coats, and the only warning I would give is that the micro-glitter gets everywhere when you remove the polish.  Not much of a downside, especially with such a perfect color.

Next is Dot, a pale, white-based pink crème.  Like Cole, it was streaky for the first coat and then smooth and pretty with the third.  You can see just how white-based it is in the flash photo, but the non-flash pic is more color-accurate.

Hudson is the name of the city where I grew up, and I have mixed feelings about the place.  Fortunately, all I feel for this lavender shimmer polish stuffed with gold micro-glitter is love.  It's thin but behaves itself, is a lovely color, and it's opaque in two coats.

Last but decidedly not least is Rebel, a gorgeous sky blue with the same gold micro-glitter as Dillon and Hudson.  Rebel is also thin but opaque in two coats, so shiny and so pretty that I could wear this for weeks.  It would also make a gorgeous Pixie Dust polish, Zoya.  Just sayin'. ;-)
